Cheongju is the capital of the province (do) of Chungcheongbuk. It is situated southwest from Seoul. This is a beautiful city with green surroundings and several historic relics, as well as with cultural and artistic traditions.

You can reach the city by train, by bus or by plain to the Cheongju International Airport. This very new airport (opened in 1997) is surrounded by two modern complexes: the Ochang Science Complex and the Osong Life Science Complex.

In this temple the Ancient Printing Museum is located. The museum itself houses and exhibition related to the art of printing through the ages. You can visit as well the stone fortress Snagdang-sanseong - a parabolic fortress with a circumference of 4.2km and a height of the walls from 3m to 4m. Unfortunately the exact construction year is unknown, but the artefacts show that the fortress was built around 16th century.

Another place to visit is the Cheongju National Museum, where you may enjoy the permanent exhibition of cultural artefacts from the city and the province.
