Car Hire in Cambridge - Getting to Cambridge

The nearest international airport to Cambridge is London Stansted, but the airport services mostly budget flights to European destinations. Luton airport is also nearby and offers similar options, but if you’re arriving from further a field, you’ll have to use London Heathrow airport.

From London, Cambridge is an hour’s train ride, and services depart out of London Liverpool street station several times an hour, though be sure to catch a fast service. The rail network in the UK is extensive and Cambridge can be reached directly from the Midlands and North without routing through London.

National Express is the UK’s bus service and buses run almost hourly from London, it is however possible to reach Cambridge directly from other UK towns.

By car, the road network in East Anglia makes it easy to reach Cambridge from all points on the compass, with direct routes through to London. Traffic can be congested during peak times.
