The old town is filled with museums, picturesque little streets and squares and many bars and restaurants, most of them with a lively terrace. The Castillo Conde de Alfaz is reminiscent of former life where you can see how the knights fought on foot and horseback to defend their honor and save themselves from the Pit of Terror.

Guadelest is the most visited inland village on the Costa Blanca, built on a mountain peak during the Moorish invasion in the thirteenth century. Other regions of interest are the Marina Alta, Marina Baja and the lovely villages of Altea, Denia, Javea, Finestrat, Jalon (valley of wine) and of course Aitana, the highest point of the Costa Blanca. The city of Elche is world famous for their palmers and tropical plants in the magnificent gardens of Elche.
The principle Costa Blanca airports are Alicante and Valencia. Valencia airport is situated 5 miles from the city and the El Altet airport at Alicante is 7 miles southwest of that city centre. They both have international and domestic flights connecting to all major Spanish and European destinations by both scheduled and charter services.
