The gateway to the island of Sardinia, Cagliari Elmas Airport is located six kilometres northwest of the city centre of Cagliari, on the Italian island of Sardinia. The biggest and the busiest airport on the island, it has a spacious terminal to accommodate more than four million passengers per year.
The airport serves many low-cost airlines as well as world-recognised ones such as British Airways and Alitalia, operating domestic and also international flights to major cities including Paris, Munich and Cologne.
The terminal is fully-equipped, boasting three levels. The ground floor is the Arrivals area, where lost and found, and police and customs offices are located, while the common area offers business services, a post office and a bank. You can also find a variety of bars and restaurants here. The second floor is the Departures area, with airline counters, snack bars, shops, a chapel and an impressive gallery. Wi-fi internet points are also located on this floor. The third floor is given over to offices of government organisations.
