Mini guide to Cabopino

The attractive beach resort of Cabopino lies between Marbella and Fuengirola in the middle of the Costa del Sol, and is a bit of a secret in these parts. It's perfect for those who prefer to escape the brashness of the likes of Torremolinos and the expense of Marbella and is also good for cheap car hire in Cabopino.

Cabopino is around 12kms east of Marbella and 14kms west of Fuengirola, and is accessible via the N-340 from Malaga. The beach is attractive and it is much more laid-back than other resorts along the coast of the sun, plus it is well within reach of them by car rental in Cabopino.

Cabopino also comes with a pretty harbour area, as well as a decent amount of hotels, shops, cafs, restaurants and bars. There is also easy enough parking close to the beach; something which is practically unheard of at the other main resorts. Cabopino is easily accessible by bus from any resort along the Costa del Sol.

Sights to see with car hire in Cabopino, besides the beach, include a pretty impressive watchtower, sat among the dunes near the beach. It provides the best views of the beach, while the harbour is also nice to stroll around.

You can be in Marbella or Fuengirola within 30 minutes with car hire in Cabopino, or even head farther down the coast and enter Gibraltar, which is still a British dependent and requires passports. Farther east is the Costa del Sol capital, Malaga.
