At an altitude of about 450 m, stretching between the forest reserves of Arnsberg to its west and river Diemel to its east is the town of Brilon. One of the oldest town halls of Germany is situated in Brilon. Constructed in 1250 this building features the sculpture of St Peter. The pedestal of the statue has Latin inscriptions conveying a beautiful message. The arched entrance of building bears antlers of four deers representing the town to be a great hunting spot.

Built in 1925 the church of St Peter and Andreas is located near the city market. This church has an Old 14th century painting of st Christopher that’s worth every tourist’s admiration. Another architectural marvel of the town is the Nikolai church that was founded in 1782. Specifically beautiful are the figures and altars of the church that bear an artistic sense.

There are number of fountains that adorn the city. The Brilon market place bears one of the famous fountains known as Kump. This fountain is known to be the starting point of Briloner’s goal.
