Bremen International Airport handles 1.6 million passengers annually and is the main airport for tourist and business travel flights for the city of Bremen and the whole northwest region of Germany. It provides excellent connections to the hub airports of Europe and thus to all parts of the world.

Shops include: Travel Value Duty Free shops in Terminals 1 and 3 (first floor); two HDS Retail GmbH from Wiesbaden shops on the ground floor of Terminal 1; a well known hairdressing salon, also in Terminal 1 (Hairport); a bakery; a florist; and the Space Shop, which sells models and space-related literature.
Wheelchairs are available and can be requested at check-in. Disabled facilities include: toilets, public telephone booths, lifts and a stair lift in Terminal 3. There is also a guide system for the blind between the car park, tram stop and the terminals. Lift signs and a layout plan are marked in Braille.
