Bozeman Airport (officially known as Gallatin Field Airport) is located in Belgrade, Montana. It is a regional airport located eight miles northwest from the city of Bozeman. Bozeman is located in the southwestern part of the state of Montana and is the county seat of Gallatin County. The population is a little more than 27,000 people. Bozeman is the fifth largest city in the state.
The city is names after John M. Bozeman, the man who founded the Bozeman Tail. Bozeman was named an All-American City in 2001. Bozeman is also home to Montana State University. The school’s Museum of the Rockies was made famous by the palaeontologist Jack Horner. Their local newspaper is called the Bozeman Chronicle.
Bozeman saw their first federal building in 1915, which included the post office for the area. The building was once a film location for the Robert Redford movie A River Runs Through it. The building is now occupied by HRDC, one of the community organizations.
For visitors, there is great fun at the Big Sky Ski Resort. The locals of the community prefer to do their skiing as the Bridger Bowl Ski Area.
