Burgas International Airport is located in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria. It is also well known as Sarasovo Airport. These days the government of Bulgaria is considering to expand and modernize the Airport because of major growth in tourism industry in Bulgaria, especially in the city of Burgas itself. With approximately 16.000 aircraft movement in 2007 alone, the already well equipped airport is still considered insufficient. Investors like Fraport and BM-Star will likely pour their funds on this project.

As part of NATO Partnership between USA and Bulgaria, since 1994 U.S Military has established an airforce operating location in Burgas Airport. One of the military operations that was supported from Burgas international Airport is the Operation Enduring Freedom in Bulgaria on 2001. Since then, Bulgaria and USA has become partner in war on terror, and many of the operations is heavily relied on Burgas International Airport as its base. On April 2001, there was an incident where there were allegations that Burgas International Airport was used as a place for illegal arms transfer. But the allegations was not proved to be true.
