Car Hire in Birmingham - Getting to Birmingham
Due to its central location Birmingham is one of the UKs transport hubs. The city has an international airport, as well as regular train and bus services. Additionally, several motorways pass through or by the city.
For passengers arriving by air, Birmingham International Airport is located just 13kms to the southeast of the city, near the M42 motorway, and has flights to and from several domestic and international airports. The airport is connected by rail to Birmingham New Street station in the heart of the city. Alternatively, an Airbus service can take you to major hotels.
If you are driving to Birmingham, take the M1 from London, the M6 from the north or the M5 from the west. All these motorways pass near the city, and access routes to the centre are clearly marked.
As for trains, there are frequent Intercity services from Birmingham New Street station to Euston station in London, and from Birmingham Snow Hill station to Marylebone station, also in London. These high-speed trains can get you to the UKs capital city in little over an hour.
Birmingham is also the centre of the National Coach Network, which has regular services running to all major destinations in the UK from the terminal at Birmingham New Street station.
