The present day Biarritz Rail Station is situated almost two miles southeast of the city centre and can be reached by bus numbers 2 or 9. The beautiful old Gare du Midi was the terminus some time ago, but the rails were torn up, and nowadays you will find an auditorium behind the lovely façade.
Biarritz attracts numerous tourists with its three appealing museums, two churches that date from the 12th and 19th centuries, two large casinos on the waterfront and particularly the yearly Biarritz Surf Festival. The festival is held at the Côte des Basques and is renowned as the premier surf event on the Continent.
