Getting to Bergerac
Bergerac is located east of Bordeaux in the region of Aquitaine and has an international airport on the outskirts of the city. The town also has good road and rail links with the capital and nearby cities.
Bergeracs Roumanières Airport is five kilometres to the south of the city centre and receives daily flights from London, Southampton and Paris. There is no public transport at present from the airport to the centre of town, so your only choice is to take a taxi. The journey takes five minutes and costs around 7.
By car from Paris, take the A10 (Paris-Orleans) motorway and exit at Orleans, heading south on to the A71 (Orleans-Vierzon) motorway. Leave the A71 to the north of Vierzon heading west, then go southwest on the A20 (Vierzon-Limoges) motorway. From Limoges, keep heading south on the N21 all the way to Bergerac (540kms). From Bordeaux, head east on the D936 for 90kms to Bergerac.
By train from Paris, take the Bordeaux-bound TGV train from Paris Montparnasse station. There are roughly two trains an hour from 07:00 to 20:00, taking 3 hours, 30 minutes. From here, catch a connecting train to Bergerac, which takes an hour. Alternatively take a TGV to Libourne (3 hours, 30 minutes) and connect to the Bergerac line.
From the UK, Eurostar trains go from Londons Waterloo station to Lille or Paris, where you can get a connection to Bordeaux and Bergerac. The SNCF station in Bergerac is at the end of Alsace-Lorraine, 10 minutes walk north of the old town.
