Mini guide to Beijing Airport
Beijing Capital International Airport lies 28 km northeast of the city centre, and handles almost 20 million passengers per year. Flights include destinations in the US and major centres across Europe and Asia.
There are two terminals at the airport however Terminal 2 is the only terminal in use at present (May 2003). Shuttle buses will connect the terminals when Terminal 1 re-opens.
A bank, several bureaux de change, an ATM, telephones and a post office are all on hand in the terminal.
A number of cafés and restaurants are also provided while several shops are located in the terminal, including air-side outlets selling duty free goods. A 24-hour medical centre is also located in the airport.
The airport's business centre provides computer facilities, fax and internet access. The VIP lounges also provide business services which include fax, photocopying and computers. A number of nearby hotels provide further business services: the Capital Airport Hotel (tel: + 86 10 6456 4466) and the Airport Garden Hotel (tel: +86 10 6456 3388) are two options.
The Beijing Airport Ground Service Corporation offers assistance to passengers with physical disabilities, while the airport provides facilities in accordance with international standards.
