Car Hire Bari Airport
Mini guide to Bari Airport
Centrally located on the coast of the Apulia region, Bari Airport has in recent years become increasingly popular with summer charter flights from all over Europe. The bulk of visitors arrive from the UK and Germany.
The single passenger terminal has limited facilities, however there is a bank as well as ATM machines conveniently located within.
There are few shopping opportunities within the airport, with just a couple of outlets selling the usual range of duty-free and regular last minute items. Hungry passengers are best advised to eat before travelling to the airport, although there is a bar/café that serves light meals and refreshments, as well as a few vending machines providing snacks and drinks.
Business visitors wishing to hold meetings at the airport itself should contact the airport for more information and reservations. There is one meeting room that can be reserved and equipped to suit visitors needs.
Those who require special assistance or wheelchairs should notify their airlines when booking their flight. Specially fitted toilets, ramps and lifts are located across the airport. Car parking is provided by specially designated areas opposite the terminal.
The airport information booth is centrally located and can assist visitors with baggage services, lost property, and tourist information.
Bari is just 11 km (6 miles) from the airport; the well signposted SP73 road links the airport to the city. There are shuttle services to the city every 50 minutes (contact the information booth for current timetables), and taxis are available for trips into the city and beyond.
Ther airport has both short term parking spaces and long term parking and a drop off/pick up area right outside the terminal entrance is handy. Assistance is available for those with reduced mobility.
