Like many other buildings in Barcelona, this airport was renovated and modernised for the Olympic Games in1992. Barcelonas Prat Airport lies 12 km southwest of the city centre, at Llogregat. The airport has domestic links with Madrid, 40 flights daily, and other areas of Spain. International flights and transatlantic crossings arrive at Terminal A.
There are 3 terminals in the airport. Terminal A is for foreign airline departures and international arrivals. Terminal B serves Spanish airline departures and European Union arrivals while Terminal C is for Air Shuttle flights and General Aviation. Passengers can follow a connecting walkway to transit between the terminals.
Banks and bureaux de change are located in all terminals and you will also find a wide variety of restaurants and bars.
Duty-free shopping is on hand in Terminals A and B. An array of other shops is also located in these two terminals: including a jewelers, bookshop, tobacconists, newsagents, music shop and shoe shop. A pharmacy is located in Terminal B and a medical service is provided in the Bloque Técnico building, which is open 24-hours.
The airport business centre is located on the first floor of Terminal B and provides rooms that may be hired for meetings (Tel: (0) 932 983 815). Telephone, fax, photocopying and computing services are all available and further queries will be dealt with by calling Tel: 93 478 6799.
Lifts, escalators and ramps facilitate the disabled with reserved parking spaces also on hand. Disabled toilets are situated across the airport and there are specially adapted telephones at wheelchair height in each terminal.
Tourist information desks (Tel: (0) 934 784 704 or 934 780 565) are positioned in Terminals A and B, and will deal with general queries. There is also a hotel information kiosk located in Terminal B. Numerous other information points are distributed across the airport.
