Bad Vilbel-Heilsberg had become a district of bad Vilbel since 1948 and is also called Salvation Mountain. It lies on the southern edge of bad Vilbel, on a hill that is found on the northern border city of Frankfurt am Main.
This district was created at the end of the Second World War where it was previously a former military training ground with the settlement of displaced people and revelers. It was in 1948 that the settlement officially declared a district. As of June 2003, there were only 5,528 people living on the Salvation Mountain or bad Vilbel Heilsberg.

Bad Vilbel Heilsberg was the headquarters of the bishops of the Ermlandes of Salvation Mountain in East Prussia. And it was in 1957 that the district of the Catholic Church parish was founded. It was then entitled ‘Transfiguration of Christ’ where the first pastor was Dr. Henry Hahner till the year 1970.
