Avalon airport is an airport situated in Avalon in the city of Geelong. Located in the northern part of Geelong, it is one of the important airports in the state of Victoria. This airport is where the biennial Australian International Air show takes place. Currently, it serves as the heavy maintenance site of the Qantas Airlines.

Avalon airport was opened for military purposes in 1953. It was only in 1959 that the Qantas airline first began its service, with the establishment of a training base. It is still being used as a pilot training base. This airport comes under the Australian Department of Defense jurisdiction and is only 50 kilometres from Melbourne.

Avalon airport is mainly used for operating jet aircrafts. The main service provider in this airport is Jetstar Airways, which is a part of Qantas Airlines. Some other carriers are Sharp Airlines, and Hazelton Airlines too was operating in this airport a few years back. Jetstar Airways uses this airport as the origin of flights to Sydney and Brisbane, and they also fly to Adelaide and Perth from this airport.

The airport has only a single terminal which is 2048 metres long with an asphalt surface. The main terminal was revamped in 2004 to contain three check-in counters, a departure lounge, and other additional features to develop it into a major hub. This renovation was done to compete with the nearby Melbourne airport and to lure passengers with a cheaper fare. Avalon airport is currently owned by a private transport company, Linfox.
