Car Rental Atlantic City - Exploring Atlantic City
New Jersey's Atlantic coast, a 208-kilometre stretch of almost uninterrupted resorts, offers a great variety of attractions for those with their own car.
While many of the resorts are crowded, two gems worth visiting are Spring Lake and Wildwood. The beaches along this stretch of coast are clean and safe, making them perfect for families. Both resorts offer a smorgasbord of recreational opportunities such as parasailing, swimming and windsurfing. There are exciting amusement parks as well. For a bit of history, visit charming Absecon Lighthouse, the third tallest lighthouse in the US and dating from 1857.
One of the most scenic spots along the coast is Cape May. Located 48kms southwest of the city on the southern tip of New Jersey, the cape has retained its historic atmosphere despite its popularity. Wander through the old town and observe the Victorian-era cottages and then head down to the shore for some wonderful panoramas. Kids love venturing out for whale-watching tours, and if the gentle giants dont appear, there is always the Cape May County Park and Zoo as a great back-up.
If youve had enough of the coast, head for New Jerseys northwestern corner. Here youll find the beautiful Delaware Water Gap, full of picturesque lakes, streams and woodlands. The area is great for hiking, camping, fishing, cycling and relaxing.
