Getting to Atlanta
Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport is the world’s busiest and largest airports. All major American carriers, numerous smaller ones, British Airways, Lufthansa, and Japan Airlines serve it.Three major interstate highways (I-20, I-75, and I-85) converge near the center of downtown Atlanta. Atlanta is approximately 150 miles from Birmingham, Alabama, 470 from New Orleans, and 450 from Orlando and Walt Disney World.
Amtrak operates the Crescent daily between Atlanta and New York, with stops in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, and other intermediate points. The Crescent also goes beyond Atlanta to many points south each day, terminating in New Orleans. And other Amtrak trains connect with most of the country.
