Car Rental Athens Airport - Transportation to and From Athens Airport
By car from Syntagma Square in downtown Athens, follow Vas Sifias Avenue, then Mesigion Avenue and Marathonos Avenue, to arrive at the airport.
By the start of the 2004 Olympic Games, there will be a railway service between the Athens metro and the principal railway station to the airport.
Right now the most economical approach is to use the bus routes which connect the airport with Athens. The E94 to Ethniki Amyna metro station leaves the airport every 15-20 minutes during metro operation hours. To reach the airport from downtown, catch the E95 on Mesogion Avenue and Attiki Odos; this runs every 15 minutes from 0500 to 2359 and every 30 minutes from 0000 to 0459. E96 leaves Piraeus every 20 minutes from 0500 to 2359 and every 40 minutes from 0000 to 0459, travelling to the airport via Varis-Coropi Avenue. Finally, passengers may take metro line 3 from the city centre to Ethniki Amina station, and then board bus line E95 to the airport.
Four thousand five hundred parking spaces are provided at the airport car parks. P1 and P2, the short-term car parks are situated just outside arrivals. The long-term car park P3 is linked by courtesy shuttle bus to the main terminal. The bus runs every 10 minutes with journeys lasting no more than five minutes. A pedestrian bridge spans the main road, offering a more energetic route. The "P3 shuttle bus" departure point is directly outside the main terminal's Arrivals hall. Outside of peak times the bus must be contacted through one of the courtesy phones.
