Getting to Albuquerque
Albuquerque is centrally located in the state of New Mexico, and is convenient to reach by either road or air. Albuquerque International Airport is located eight kilometres south of downtown and has convenient connections to major cities in the southwest like Denver and Phoenix, where international visitors can transit. Additional airports in Alamogordo, Farmington, Questa, Ruidoso, Santa Fe and Taos offer local flights.
Interstate 25 runs north-south through the state, parallel to the Rio Grande River, connecting Santa Fe in the north to Albuquerque and then to Los Cruces in the south. Albuquerque is connected to Texas and Arizona by the east-west oriented I-40. Additional highways make other towns in New Mexico easily accessible from Albuquerque on beautiful scenic drives.
Amtrak's Southwest Chief service has daily trains from Albuquerque's Amtrak station to eastern and western destinations. There are also services to Lamy, with a connecting bus to Santa Fe.
Greyhound has services throughout New Mexico and operates from the Albuquerque Bus Transportation Center. Several shuttles also depart from the airport to Santa Fe, Taos, Red River and Angel Fire.
