Carrentals sponsors a World Record!

The snow season is still very much with us, and a perfect time to attempt a Skiing World Record. Pietro Simonetti, USA Editor of the Good Ski Guide and two other Good Ski Guide employees, Gideon Reeves and Karen Wilmer are going to be skiing in 10 European countries in 5 days.

So what’s this got to do with cars then? Well apart from dogs, using a car is the only way to make the adventure work, so they approached us to supply the cars on their epic journey and we were more than happy to help.

Whilst most people’s idea of living dangerously is to not have a pizza on a Friday night but a Chinese, Pietro does non-stop ski Marathons. For fun. Yes, you heard right. He already holds a Guinness World Record for endurance, skiing all of Colorado’s 28 resorts in 80hrs, and 41mins, so a jaunt around the skiing locations of Europe with time to rest in-between will be easy street for him.

It's not all ski, ski, ski - there will be a lot of driving

The World Record attempt was launched yesterday at the rather glamarous location of Milton Keynes Snow Zone, one of ours, Gareth Crew, was there representing us and may also be put in the record books aswell – even though he can’t ski – surely some sort of record for a World Record Ski attempt!
