F1 Goes Green (Grooved)
Friday, October 10th, 2008
It was only a matter of time until F1 had to highlight its efforts in being a ‘responsible’ sport and drawing attention to global warming with their green-grooved tyres for this weekend’s GP in Japan.
Who’s going to be the first driver to complain about the grip of these tyres this weekend?
It’s no coincidence that this stunt has been scheduled for the race after the Singapore GP, which, run in night was enough to get even the staunchest non-environmentalist’s eyebrows raised at the pure waste of resources.
F1 cars are going to save the environment
Formula One is caring and for all the family - they’re not evil and polluting, right? Green grooves will cure all of the world’s environmental problems.
Perhaps they can, in an effort to turn the tide in the world’s stock markets make all of their drivers drive in shirts, braces and outrageous ties. Or maybe not.
Environment saved? Let’s sort out the economy next!
Their actual pollution is minimal, let them do what they do best - the racing.
