September 19, 2011 by Dave Duttson
The Rugby World Cup is in full swing now, and we have seen some hard-hitting games. The great thing about this year’s Rugby World Cup is that every game has felt really unique. Every game has had that ‘energy’ that people have come to expect from the Rugby World Cup. However, as the tournament pushes on, I am sure some even more exciting games are yet to come. Australia v Ireland (6-15) When the match started, everyone knew that this would be a game to remember. Before the game started, however, many people Read more…

September 16, 2011 by Dave Duttson
What do you think of street racing? A harmless bit of fun? A menace to society? Alright so long as Vin Diesel is involved? Let’s weigh up some of the cold hard facts about street racing. So where did it start? Legend has it (legend = Wikipedia) that street racing started way back in the 1930s. But why? Well, it was the hairbrained idea of kids bored out of their minds by an alcohol ban placed on some areas in the US. “OK so I can’t go out drinking on street corners. What ever Read more…

They pimp their Peugeout 106 beyond recognition then spend their evenings racing each other around warehouse car parks. Phwoar! Sounds like a dream. But how to achieve this state of car glory? Rise in ladies’ car insurance
June 17, 2011 by Dave Duttson
For a long time, women have benefited from cheaper car insurance rates due to the general assumption that they are less likely to get in an accident. This is particularly true for young drivers; car insurance for a male who has just passed their test could be up to twice as high as for a girl at the same age and driving ability. Is this fair? The courts don’t think so. A new ruling has passed which considers cheaper insurance for women as sexually discriminating to men. The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg Read more…

Cars of the future
June 14, 2011 by Dave Duttson
Films and TV shows tend to depict the future with all sorts of gadgets – think Marty McFly’s hoverboard in Back to the Future Part II. Ask a kid to draw a picture of what they think the year 2050 will look like and they’ll come up with flying cars, teleportation pads and perhaps the odd robot. Pretty unlikely to actually happen but then again, a few years ago we’d have scoffed at the idea of a video call and no idea what an App is. So what does the future really hold for cars? Read more…

June 13, 2011 by Dave DuttsonEven with all the rain, finally someone has put some pressure on Sebastian Vettel. Jenson Button stole first place in the last half of the final lap, this must have put Vettel in a bad mood. With all the rain, there were bound to be a few accidents, unfortunately for Lewis Hamilton, he collided with the pit wall and sustained a puncture to his tyres, after Button swerved in front of him, after Hamilton got out of his car, he was pulled out of the race. Jenson Button said that he couldn’t see anything Read more…

Moment of madness designs
June 9, 2011 by Dave Duttson
When you’re on the road, have you ever driven past a car and wondered just what the flip the owner was thinking when they bought it? Bad paint jobs, blazing LED lights and unsightly spoilers are typical features of pimped-out cars. Here are a few examples of the extremes people go to in order to make their car stand out. These two have extremely intricate paintwork. You can’t help but appreciate the craftsmanship that has gone in to creating these patterns, but that doesn’t stop them being eyesores. If you saw one of these on Read more…
