“Let’s Off Road!“

The winners of our 4×4 off roading competition were:

www.ruralretreatinfrance.co.uk –  who sent Simon Coverdale along to represent them.

These affiliates won for the display of our creative on their sites and the sales produced from their efforts.

We all descended on Whitecliff4x4.co.uk on February the 10th 2010 bright and early to enjoy a fantastic day Off Roading!  The location is a beautiful disused quarry in the Gloucestershire countryside.  Our tutors for the day – Geraldine (one of the proprietors) Bryn and Jim – were very patient with us and talked us all through our paces and pretty soon we were climbing rough terrain, driving though deep muddy water and hurtling down the steep bank affectionally known as “The Screamer”!

We had a full days training (these guys regularly train Ambulance drivers, so we were in safe hands) and at the end we were awarded points for our driving skills throughout the day – Chris from Easyfundrasing.org.uk was the top affiliate driver of the day – Well done Chris!

As you can see from the pictures great fun was had by all.  Gareth Robinson (Carrentals MD) was dubbed the Nigel Mansel of the day and somehow I was awarded the Driver of the Day trophy!

As well as having tremendous fun we came away with better driving knowledge and a greater understanding of what these vehicles were designed to do and capable of doing.

We would like to say a big Thank You to our Affiliates, John, Dave, Chris and Simon for attending and being such good company for the day and also a Huge Thank you to our tutors for the day at Whitecliff4x4.

Watch out for our next Competition – if I have my way it will be something equally as exciting and enjoyable!
